"Beyond The Walls!"
GoodLife BTW--Serving Beyond The Walls
GoodLife Church is committed to sharing Jesus...
BEYOND THE WALLS ("BTW")
and into our community, counties and beyond!

It's no secret. People are trending away from the organized church. Why? One reason is they have lost their passion to serve outside their walls.
In 2014, GoodLife Church (then known as Gethsemane Lutheran Church) looked into our community, at our own church community, and Jesus' command to make disciples. After nearly six months of prayerful reflection and discussion, we determined that God might be leading us to minister to our community by planting churches.
With grants from the Michigan District-LCMS and donations from members, non-members and the community, we began to offer ministry to seniors in our community. Starting with American House-Elmwood, we than added American House Village followed by Sanctuary Bellbrook--all located in Rochester Hills.
What Did God Do?
As we offered worship at least twice a month to seniors in these communities, we noticed that God was bringing people together OFF-CAMPUS for one reason: to hear about Jesus. Since 2014, GoodLife Church has expanded BTW into many different senior communities in Rochester, Rochester Hills, Sterling Heights and Shelby Twp. Some of these include:
-
American House Elmwood (Rochester Hills)
-
American House Village (Rochester Hills)
-
Anthology Assisted Living (Rochester Hills)
-
Anthology Memory Care Rochester Hills)
-
Cedarbrook Senior Living (Rochester)
-
Sanctuary Bellbrook (Rochester Hills)
-
Pomeroy Sr Living (Rochester Hills)
-
Pomeroy Sr. Living (Sterling Heights).
And the list...and opportunities to share Jesus Christ--are GROWING!! As new senior communities are springing up all over Oakland and Macomb Counties, GoodLife Church recognized it could only directly sponsor three or four of these sites without partnering with other area LCMS churches, Christians and people in our community with a passion for seniors.
What Did God Do THIS Time?
God moved us to start a separate entity called "GoodLife Acts BTW." This non-profit corporation (pending) is focused on partnering with other churches, individuals and community resources to expand GoodLife to greater Detroit and beyond.
We are excited that as more churches and groups of individuals adopt the "GoodLife Model" of doing ministry "BTW" (i.e. "Beyond The Walls" of the local church), the message of Jesus' love will infiltrate our communities, regions and beyond with the simple message of Jesus' suffering, death and resurrection to make sinners his forgiven children.
